Shot
in South Africa in 2001 Johns first film other than on Tai Chi,
Features the music of Joseph {Banjo} Melvin {Sax} and Henry
{percussion-a old tin with stones in! - he forgot his tambourine
that day.} John met them out side a Restaurant in 'Cape Town' and
they allowed him to film them playing. |

This
footage is interlaced with Johns footage from the beautiful Cape
landscapes and its friendly people. While documenting this trio and
their moving, joyful and also melancholy music, it is also an
exploration of South Africa images and impressions from the view
point of an outsider while trying to be sensitive to the tensions
and inequality still apparent in this stunning country. |
