Previously with experience in Photography, Film,
Advertising and Fashion, John was first hired as an Art Director in 1997
for a music video by the Film Maker John Martin White {see 'Associates'}.
John secured work on a controversial Independent Film 'Sweet Meats' in
1998 {Art Director and Production Designer. See 'Productions'} and in
1999 the notorious 'Cold Fish' {Art Director} now available on DVD, another comment on the
tangled web of a degenerative British Society, Media and Sex. He left this
production pre shooting. 'Cold Fish' received mixed reviews on its
original opening, with some film press walking in disgust out due in part to its
use of arching footage of real executions and killings. After appearing in and
advising on two Instructional videos between 1999 and 2001 on Tai Chi Chuan
by 'Bench Mark Productions' in Germany, John decided to explore his own
vision by producing his own films. In 2001 he shot 'Cape Town Jazz' in
South Africa - three Jazz Musicians he met while in Cape Town.
In 2002 he shot
material at various locations for his VAS Productions series on Chinese
Arts of Tai Chi Chuan and Chi Kung. For his resent films {2005 onwards}
he has built a Oriental Style Garden as a working set He also continues
to work with other film makers on variety of projects. {See 'Associates'}.
In 2006 he shot further footage in the USA in
the 'Yosemite National Park' for his Tai Chi, Chi Kung and Yoga
Productions. For stills from these productions, see the 'Productions'
part of this site. |
